And don’t miss the Byzantine Church of the Holy Apostles (13th century) – it’s got real history! This is where the very first prayer of thanks was held after Kalamata was liberated on March 23, 1821. As you walk through, you’ll be wowed by the sheer variety and beauty of these traditional outfits, seeing how they differ from region to region and learning their history and meaning. Each costume is a true work of art, showcasing unique designs, materials, and techniques. The museum offers a vivid, colourful glimpse into Greece’s cultural heritage and folk art. Everything is presented with incredible care, making for a truly special visit.
